Tesla Opens an Amazon Store

Tesla launched its very own online store to market its merchandise on Amazon earlier this year, stocked with a wide range of different Tesla products, such as branded iPhone X cases ($35-$45), Tesla hoodies ($70-$80), and 1:18 scale die-cast models of the company’s vehicles ($250).

At Island Fender in Honolulu, HI we know that Tesla has dabbled with selling its line of merchandise on its own website for several years now alongside its accessories for its vehicles. There’s a Tesla-branded wireless smartphone charger, a fully portable battery, and a pretty cool desktop version of the company’s Supercharger with USB a passthrough. Tesla also sells a kid's version of the Model S and many more obscure offerings that haven't been a huge success, such as a Tesla-branded surfboard, Tesla jackets made of leftover upholstery leather, before the carmaker ceased using the material except for its signature steering wheels.

Meanwhile, Amazon has been attempting to penetrate into the automotive sector over the last couple of years. The company markets tons of vehicle accessories, maintains a car comparison hub, and sells and installs sophisticated home chargers for electric cars. Amazon is also attempting to get its Alexa digital assistant into vehicles, too, both with a Software Development Kit (SDK) that carmakers can integrate fully into their infotainment systems, as well as a dashboard device called Echo Auto.

Other interesting items also sold on Tesla's online Amazon Store, include a Tesla Sonic Toothbrush for Kids; Tesla Neck Support; a wide range of Tesla high-end attire; Tesla Hot Wheels and Tesla beach towels. If you drive a Tesla, this is just for you. I saw a Tesla owner recently who had everything that has the brand name "Tesla" logo and admitted that he had spent more than $2,000 on Tesla merchandise.

If you have a Tesla owner in your life, this online store is great for gifts for birthdays, weddings, holidays and anniversaries. Driving a cool car is a lot of fun, but owning the accompanying bling is also a rush, just ask people who own a Porsche, Bentley, Volkswagen, Ford, Subaru, Land Rover, Jaguar, BMW or Mercedes-Benz.

So, shop until you drop and unload some of your disposable income soon if you own a Tesla, a car people just don't like their vehicles--they love them! Amazon is a retail leader and partnering with Tesla is a big deal and exciting news.
