Nissan Recalls Nearly 250,000 Vehicles Internationally

Nissan Recalls Nearly 250,000 Vehicles Internationally

In a recall enacted in late September, Nissan has determined that 215,124 vehicles in the US and 19,761 vehicles in Canada may be affected by an issue that can cause combustion in anti-lock braking systems. As with all recalls (and moreso with ones involving safety issues,) our partners at Germain Toyota Collision Center in Columbus, OH urge those who have received recall notices to make an appointment to get it addressed ASAP.

The recall affects specific models of 2015-2017 Muranos, 2016-2017 Maximas, 2017 Pathfiders, and 2017 Infiniti QX60's. In the meantime, Nissan is urging those that may be affected to park their vehicles outdoors in case of incident.

The specific nature of the recall involves faulty seals in the braking system.

Under certain conditions, the seal could leak and brake fluid could be released onto the circuit board. This could result in excessive heat and combustion.

"If this occurs, an ABS warning lamp will continuously illuminate on the instrument panel to warn the driver" a recent report by Nissan stated.

Thankfully, no injuries or deaths have been reported due to the malfunction.

Hopefully the entirety of the recall will pass without incident and owners can resume normal operations soon.
