I came there last Fall complaining of a high pitched squealing coming from my car. At that time I was told my serpentine belt looked fine. He put lubricant on it and tightened the belt. One month later I was back with the same issue. Then, I was told it was my serpentine belt... even though I had previously been told it was fine. I spent $540 for a new belt and alternator, and the problem was never fixed. Over the last 5 months, I came into Pinkeys 5 times (once twice in one day). Someone would tighten the belt and tell me this sometimes happens with a new belt. I was beyond frustrated as the problem would seem to get better and then start up again whenever it was damp or wet outside. I wasted A LOT of time on this. Finally, this week I brought my car in and told them I was leaving it so they could “fix it right” this time. Apparently, I was missing some sheild under my car that prevents water from getting into the engine. The part was replaced to the tune of $170. I make art for a living, so car repairs aren’t easy on my pocketbook. I just think that maybe I paid $ for a belt that didn’t yet need to be replaced. What a long and frustrating experience it has been, that should have been handled differently.
