Priming The Next Generation Of Paint Technicians
Priming The Next Generation Of Paint Technicians
Paint giant Axalta is partnering with the non-profit group Drive ONE to give middle and high school age kids the opportunity to hone their refinishing skills.
Axalta recently installed a paint booth at Drive ONE's TechCenter in Detroit MI, allowing students to learn the necessary refinishing skills using the same techniques and equipment found in professional shops. At this facility Axalta and Drive ONE have provided a unique opportunity for young adults to get a leg up on a potential career path, teaching them all of the skills necessary for success and allowing for the repetition needed to really get to know the field.
This isn't the first collaboration between Axalta and Drive ONE, either. They have previously partnered on other projects involving engineering, modeling, and design. One of the these projects included Drive ONE students painting a pink pedal car to present to Dale Earnhardt Jr. for his daughter at the SEMA automotive trade show in Las Vegas, NV.
Some day you may have a graduate of the Drive ONE program applying your new Axalta paint job at a location such as Service King Copperfield in Houston, TX!
