One exception is the movie version of King’s novel Christine, which was directed by the legendary horror film producer/director John Carpenter. The film differs significantly from King's storyline, in which the vehicle is actually possessed by the evil spirit of its former owner, but Christine -- a 1958 Plymouth Fury – is as frightening as she is in the book.

2.) Stuntman Mike’s 1970 Chevy Nova (from Death Proof)

Known as the first half of the Grindhouse, this Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez homage to seedy horror movies from the 1970s, Death Proof tells the story of Stuntman Mike and his prized1970 Chevy Nova. Death Proof became a cult classic and the car was one of the film's fascinating characters.

3.) The Munsters’ Koach

The Munsters was  a classic TV sitcom about a weird family consisting of classic horror movie characters living out in the suburbs. A family of happy and friendly monsters go through wild misadventures in this series, never quite comprehend why people react to them so strangely. Their family car was known as the Koach and it was actually more cool than scary.

The second thing that Director/Producer Steven Spielberg ever created during his amazing was called Duel and it was made exclusively for ABC TV almost 50 years ago.. A lot of critics believe that Duel was one of the best movies that Spielberg produced and some people claim that it contains one of the most frightening driving scenes of all time. The plot is barely simple-- the lone driver is chased across the desert by an enormous, rusting semi truck. Duel and its Peterbilt 281 Tanker Truck will definitely have you thinking more than twice about road rage.

5.) The Car

In this super scary film, there is a fairly impressive scene at around the 1:24-minute mark, in which this customized 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III designed by famed Hollywood car customizer George Barris takes over the story when it flips itself on its side and rolls over a couple of cops. With Josh Brolin’s father James in the film's lead role, The Car drives fast and far to tell a scary story that viewers will never forget.
