5 Tips for Passing Your Driving School Test

So you’re getting ready to take your driver’s examination for the very first time, but you’re a little nervous for obvious reasons? It's not surprising, and who wouldn’t be?

With these tips from Service King Babcock in San Antonio, TX and a little homework along the way, you’ll pass the exam with flying colors and become a fully licensed driver before you know it!

1. Study First

That’s right; you'll need to study. Good news--there are a couple of things that  are in your favor, though. All of the information is in just one little booklet, so memorizing all of it should be a piece of cake. Most of the things in it are common sense and basic knowledge.

2. Learning Never Ends

To be a better and safer driver, you should always be observing and learning every time you get behind the wheel. Most of us have a tendency to just kind of turn our brains off when we're a passenger, but remember that whenever  you get into a vehicle, it’s a golden opportunity to learn and enhance your driving skills.

3. Relaxation is Key

One of the biggest reasons why people fail their driver's exam is because they're stressed and anxious. Let's put it this way – how many millions of drivers are out there on the roads right now, and how many of them are better than you? I bet that without even trying, you can come up with a handful of people you know that cause you to think--“Well if that guy has his driver's license, I sure can too.”

4. Practice, Practice, Practice

There’s a minimum number of hours that your state will require when it comes to driving training instruction, but you can do as much as you want. So, if you really want to make certain that you can ace the examination, you should surpass the minimum requirement. Have one of your parents, a guardian, or an older, licensed friend to take you for some additional training time while adhering to the rules that are set forth by your local DMV. Every hour of training counts, and will go a long, long way toward making you a safer, smarter and more confident driver.

5. Anticipate

Most people pass the written part of the exam and then have issues with the behind-the-wheel test portion, so be ready for both. Driving instructors will tend to take you through a school zone, or somewhere the speed limit changes. So, react appropriately and be ready for the unexpected. Also practice parking as much as you can before the test, especially parallel parking because if you pass everything but fail that part, all will be for naught.
