New Tesla Models Earn NHTSA Top Safety Ratings
In recent safety evaluations, the 2018 Tesla Model 3 has scored a coveted NHTSA 5-star rating in every category. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration put three Tesla models through its usual battery of tests: The Model 3, Model S, and Model X. The tests included the front driver side, front passenger side, side barrier, side pole, and rollover crashes. All three aced the tests, with the Model 3 achieving the highest rating possible of "superior" in front crash prevention. As experts in the collision field, our partners at Service King Southwest Columbus of Columbus, OH keep a close eye on these ratings and can attest that they do, in fact, reflect what they're seeing in the field.
With the recent criticism of Tesla due to not meeting production deadlines, this must come as a major win for the company. CEO Elan Musk recently stated that Tesla has "gone from production hell to delivery logistics hell." Whether or not this signifies an improvement is yet to be seen.
Customers certainly pay attention to these ratings, and they play a large part in their consideration when contemplating their next purchase. In this case, Tesla is well-positioned to capitalize on the strength of their reputation for performance and eco-friendliness along with these safety results.
This could tip the scale for buyers on the fence about whether they should take the plunge or not when thinking Tesla.
