Harold LeMay's America's Car Museum is a Huge Hit

AutoBody-Review.com harold lemays americas car museum isa huge hitThousands of car fans of all ages will want to take a trip to LeMay – America’s Car Museum (ACM) in Tacoma, Washington. Opened in 2012, the 165,000-square-foot facility features 350 automobiles. Many of the vehicles were donated by the family of Harold LeMay.

At Lil' Rick's Collision Center Inc., we love classic cars and that's why we like car museums. If we ever get a chance to travel to Washington from Oklahoma City, OK we'd enjoy visiting ACM.

LeMay had a passion for automobiles. Nicknamed “Lucky” as a child, one of his favorite sayings was “It takes a lot of hard work to be lucky.” LeMay and his wife Nancy were lucky enough to amass one of the largest collections of privately-owned automobiles. At one time, they owned more than 3,000 vehicles plus thousands of artifacts. The collection was included in the 1997 Guinness Book of World Records.

The museum is dedicated to preserve and interpret the history and technology of the automobile and its influence on American culture. It was recognized as one of MSN’s 10 Best Automotive Museums worldwide, as well as KING5’s 2015 Best Museum in Western Washington and USA Today’s 10 Best Museums in Seattle.

In addition to offering tours, the museum has a gift shop, lecture halls, a banquet room and café.
