Five Best Canadian Road Trips
Oh Canada! If you've visited our friends in the north of us, you know that Canada is a beautiful place with wonderful things to see. From coast to coast, Canada features incredible scenery and is proud of its history.
So, are five road trips from us at Service King Mt Moriah in Memphis, TN to think about if you're considering Canada for your next vacation:
1.) From Regina to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
If you're intrigued by the idea of experiencing things like Western riding and learning about the Mounties, this is the ideal road trip for you. The terrain is mostly flat, but the attractions are numerous. You can enjoy some sports fishing, sightseeing and sailing as well. Check out the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Heritage Centre, and don't forget to hit Moose Jaw to visit a working cattle ranch and do some horse riding.
2.) From Montréal to Gaspé Peninsula, Québec
At the east end of Canada, Montréal is the biggest city in Québec. Named after Mount Royal, the City of Montréal features a wide range of landmarks and sites to enjoy, including the Montréal Botanical Gardens, Notre-Dame Basilica and amazing Old Montréal.
3.) From Vancouver to Tofino, British Columbia
If you don’t have a ton of time, traveling from Vancouver to Tofino is an awesome two-day trip to think about. Take a ferry in Horseshoe Bay on your way to Vancouver Island and enjoy the ride. When you get there, the drive from Nanaimo to Tofino is one of the most beautiful scenic drives within British Columbia. The roads wind throughout the region windy through breathtaking rainforests with snow-capped mountain peaks in the background. A must see is the MacMillan Provincial Park and Kennedy Lake Provincial Park and check out the First Nations community at Esowista.
4.) The Iconic Icefields Parkway, Alberta
A 3-day trip through the Icefields Parkway in Alberta is a stunning experience. Driving through the wilderness, you will witness ancient glaciers, unspoiled lakes and huge valleys. During your journey, you’ll go through the heart of the Canadian Rock Mountain World Heritage Site and be able to enjoy two national parks—Banff National Park and Jasper National Park.
5.) Hit the Cabot Trail, Nova Scotia
Considered by many to be one of the most scenic destinations on the planet, the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia has been voted as the top island to visit in continental North America by Travel & Leisure Magazine. The journey along the coast takes 3-5 days and is filled with scenic ocean views, lush forests, old prehistoric rocks and one of the main highlights—the Cape Breton Highlands.
