Jaguar And Land Rover Adding CarPlay And Android Auto 

Apple's CarPlay and Android Auto have become the two most popular options in infotainment systems internationally, and now you will have the opportunity to purchase Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles with the option to have these incorporated. In a recent release, Jaguar has stated that newer models of their lineups will have a package available in vehicles that have their InControl Touch Pro or Touch Pro Duo systems installed. 

Many consumers have begun specifically requesting these systems, as their integration with smart devices is unparalleled. They offer a variety of third party apps available directly from the in-vehicle display and screen mirroring from both iPhones and Android smart devices. These give the driver options as to which streaming music services they want listen to, navigation app to use, and increase safety by keeping the driver's eyes closer to the road. 

An update to the onboard software will also allow existing owners with the Touch systems to have access to CarPlay and Android Auto retroactively, with a few caveats.

The update requires specific USB ports to work effectively, meaning not all models will be able to take advantage of the upgrade, no matter how recently the vehicle was purchased. The smart phone package for both new vehicles and eligible older ones start at $280.
