Classic Cars that Won't Break the Bank

Classic car collecting isn’t a game reserved strictly for rich people; there is a wide range of readily available and high affordable classics that can get anyone into the classic car collector game.

Here are five suggestions to consider from Service King South Ft. Worth at Fort Worth, TX if you're looking to acquire an affordable classic vehicle now or sometime in the future.

1.) The Ford Torino GT (1970-1971)

Right after Ford redesigned its 1970s era mid-size vehicles, the public immediately gave them bad reviews, which was their loss. The 1970-’71 Torinos from that group with their Coke bottle-looking exterior styling are as unique and distinctive as those that came prior, with awesome interiors that include linear-style speedometers, comfortable high-back bucket seats and three-spoke steering wheels featuring three spokes. Prices: $12,000 to $15,000.

2.) 1971 AMC Hornet SC/360

The iconic AMC Hornet SC/360 does not feature the sleek muscles of a classically striking sports car, but this hulking compact has the power to spare thanks to its 360 cubic inches (5.9 liters) AMC V-8. Collectors can choose from either the two-barrel Motorcraft carburetor rated at 245 hp, which is fairly rare or a four-barrel at 285 hp, which is more preferred by collectors who are in the know. Prices: $22,000 to $28,000.

3.) 1950's Classic Jeep

These Jeeps are surely not comfortable or glamorous, but they are arguably one of the very  finest off-road vehicles out there on the market, not to mention the fact that they are head turners. If you're in the marketplace for a 1960’s-era jeep, you should be able to get an iconic wood-paneled Jeep Wagoneer for $6,000 and up, but the classic 1950’s version is a tad more costly. Prices: $7,000.00 to $25,000.

4.) 1958-1962 BMW Isetta 600

Depending on where you live, you will likely see BMWs pretty much everywhere, but nothing like the Isetta 600. This classic BMW is a mega-small, egg-shaped car that, if completely restored, offers a major return on investment. The Isetta 600 features a very unusual design that gets oohs and aahs from classic car fans. Prices: $30,000 to $60,000.

5.) 1985- 1990 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z and Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

Back in the old days, the Chevrolet IROC-Z and the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am were the most popular cars on the road. Just like with all good classics, these vehicles are still desired by car collectors. The third-generation versions of these beauties included a 215 hp 5.0-liter V8 engine, and are readily available in an impressive array of different trims. The 225-hp, 5.7-liter V8 was phased in from 1986 to 1987, and many variations of them are currently available at low prices. Prices: $4,500 - $7,000.
