Do You Know Any of These Road Ragers?

Driving is a very complex, dynamic activity where some unanticipated things are likely to happen. As a result, it is common for drivers to suffer from an infrequent bout of anger directed at their misfortune, or toward other vehicles on the road. This is where defensive driving techniques would help a lot, but very few road ragers are willing to take classes. Road ragers are a special breed and highly dangerous, so all of us at Service King Oak Cliff in Dallas, TX are delighted to be sharing this information with you.

Here are 4 of the relaxation-challenged drivers you should watch out for the next time you jump into your car.

The Raucous Road Renegade

The Raucous Road Renegade is a driver who is fairly sure that the drivers' handbook is made for other people, and surely not for them. While everybody else adheres to things such as “rules” and “driving defensively,” Raucous Road Renegades feel as though their driving skills are superior and the laws don't apply to them. These people will drive on the shoulder when everyone else sits patiently in stop-and-go traffic and will blow through 4-way stops without looking if they think they can get away with it. When they cause an inevitable near-miss or even a full-blown collision, they act shocked, angry and completely perplexed that someone with their exceptional driving talent could ever find themselves in such a bad situation.

America's Cop

America's Cops normally have good intentions, but still suffer from their blood-pressure raising anger that all other road ragers are afflicted with. Is your license plate registration decal not applied properly? Did you signal for a little less time than what's commonly desired before turning? America's Cops will let you know that you're breaking the law with finger pointing, honking, and frantic waving. These law-enforcing drivers always seem to be much more focused on how other people are driving rather than paying attention to their own driving habits, thereby compromising their own personal safety.

The Super-Charged Competitor

Super-Charged Competitors are drivers who strive to always be the first in line. At stop lights, they will invariably bolt ahead of other drivers. They also weave in and out of traffic with the dim hope that they will get ahead of the rest of the vehicles out on the roadway. And in their pursuit to get into a better position they have very little respect for the concept of “right of way.” When their crazy and highly dangerous driving doesn’t give them the advantage they desire, Super-Charged Competitors respond with a steering wheel-pounding tantrum right in their car.

The Royalty of the Road

Royal Road Ragers are drivers who truly believe that they are far above the rest of us who need to deal with working-class concerns such as backed up traffic or dividing lines. If a construction crew blocks a lane and/or causes traffic to back up, the rest of us are happy to politely merge and endure the slight delay with dignity. But this scenario is far too much for the fragile sensibilities of Road Royalty. They will invariably speed up and dart in and out at the last possible moment, sneering, rolling their eyes, and acting a fool.
