General Motors Incorporates In-Dash Payment For Fuel
Drivers of some Chevrolets, Buicks, GMCs, and Cadillacs will now have the convenience of being able to pay for gas at Shell stations via Shell Pay & Save from their dashboard infotainment systems. This not only allows them to pay before they leave the car, but to accumulate Fuel Reward Points as well.
All the driver needs to do is make a few selections on their touchscreen, which will generate a code, allowing the user to activate a specific pump. As an incentive to use the new system, Shell is offering a limited time discount of 25 cents a gallon up to 20 gallons.
"We are very excited to be able to announce that this technology is now live at Shell branded locations across the United States," said Sydney Kimball, Shell's Vice President of Fuel Sales and Marketing. "What an incredible opportunity this is, and we couldn't be more thrilled to bring this to our customers."
This is an obvious win for both companies, leading to brand loyalty through this convenient feature.
It wouldn't surprise us at Service King Ingram if we start seeing more of these vehicles filling up at Shell stations around San Antonio in TX.
