Awesome Holiday Western Road Trips

Having the ability to hit the open road can be thrilling, especially if you know where to go and which roads to take. The freedom of traveling allows you to experience different cultures, meet new people and visit extraordinary sites. Traveling for the holidays is very popular among people of all ages, and some of the biggest travel days precede Independence Day, Christmas and Thanksgiving. One of the best regions to visit in the United States is the West Coast or at least certain regions in the western half of the country.

From all of us at Service King Mesa in Mesa, AZ we want to wish you a Happy and Safe Holiday Season!

1.) Las Vegas, Nevada is one of the most visited cities in the US, and offers a thrilling escape during the holidays. Besides cruising the strip and visiting expensive casinos, travelers will receive a blast at "America's Party." This grand festival is actually the city's New Year's Eve celebration. The attractions are free, the views are unlimited and the drinks will flow all night long. Pasadena, California, is ground zero for one of the biggest days in college football. The Rose Bowl Parade, and the Rose Bowl Football game is full of festive activities, enthusiastic people and plenty of local parties. Taking a road trip to the affluent Rose Bowl Stadium will offer stunning views of the Los Angeles metropolitan area, and you could partake in the copious amounts of cookouts that line the streets.

2.) Historic Route 66 is perfect for those who don't want to be a part of the crowd. Also known as Will Rogers Highway, Route 66 is one of America's original highways. This road extends for 2,448 miles. In other words, this affluent route extends from Chicago, Illinois, to Santa Monica, California. Route 66 will take you through small towns, guide you over a number of architectural bridges and bring you back to your senses with a blast from the past. San Francisco, also known as "The City by the Bay," is about as scenic as it gets. Driving into the city via the Golden Gate Bridge is simply stunning. Try visiting some of the city's attractions, including Alcatraz Island or Fisherman's Wharf.

3.) The Grand Canyon provides the perfect attributes for a road trip. The canyon itself is 277 miles long, and it has a floor elevation of 2,600 feet. Travelers will get panoramic views of earth's geological history. All in all, this only scratches the surface of what America's western region has to offer so get out there and tackle the open road in flying colors.
