The lack of availability of parts apparently drug out the repair to over two months. This was almost unbelievable and reflects poorly on Ford Motor Co. The extent of damage to the vehicle in this accident,along with other data we have gathered from owning 8 Explorers also is causing us to rethink our use of this platform in our small fleet.

I was told it would be a "quick" repair, likely a day or two once the parts arrived. It turned out to 9 days and an old part was put back on. I was told I would receive a 74 credit for putting the old part on but when I picked the car up it was only 50 with no explanation until I insisted. Additionally, a censor was damaged in the process of the repair so now a warning light is constantly flashing saying my hood is ajar the entire time my car was. This was previously not a problem. A simple lower bumper repair turned into a nightmare.
No problem for the repair, but it was not done within 10 days as they told me.

An aluminum body, which evidently presented major problems, as they were unable to acquire the correct rivets to attach the new part. In place of the correct rivets, another type was used, which resulted in an unacceptable repair job. This has not been resolved yet, but I was assured by the body shop manager and my insurance agent that it will be fixed correctly, and I should have a response within 2 weeks letting me know what will be done to make this right.
