Cars Land at Disneyland is a Must for Car-Crazy Kids

Do the names Lighting McQueen and Mater sound familiar? If you are a fan of the 2006 movie “Cars” and happen to be in California, you won’t want to miss Cars Land. The 12-acre area at Disneyland California Adventure Park in Anaheim, California, opened in 2012 and is one of the theme park’s top attractions.

If you still have some summer vacation left, why not take the kids to Car Land at Disneyland? At John's Collision Center, we are big Disney fans and hope that soon we will be able to travel from Raleigh, NC to the Happiest Place in World.

Guests can step into a replica of the fictional town of Radiator Springs. Inside, you’ll find exciting rides, themed restaurants and gift stores, all reminiscent of the popular animated movie.

Here are some highlights:

Radiator Springs Racers

Probably the main attraction in Cars Land, Radiator Springs Racers is reportedly based on the technology of Epcot’s Test Track. You’ll travel through windy roads in six-person vehicles through hills, turns and straightaways. Your journey seems to start peacefully but picks up some serious speed before you know it. The track eventually splits into two where thrill seekers get prepped for a race, which could be the ride of your life!

Luigi’s Rocklickin Roasters

This attraction replaced Luigi’s Flying Tires Ride and opened in 2016. Guests ride in cars on a trackless system that dance to Italian music. Each car has a different personality and dance move.

Mater Junkyard Jamboree

Jump aboard a spinning tractor in this family-friendly attraction, which is based on the tractor-tipping scene in the movie. Mater himself leads the tractor-pulling square dance to the tunes of Billy Hill and the Hillbillies.

Character Meet & Greets

Step in front of Cozy Cone Motel and you’ll most likely find Mater or Lighting Queen. Snap a photo or just wave hello to your favorite movie character.

DJ’s Dance and Drive

Several times a day, an oldies dance party takes place. Before sunset, the neon lights go on in Cars Land and the signs light up Route 66. Shortly after sunset, don’t be surprised if there is a streak of lightning.

Unique Shopping Experiences

Before you leave for the day, you’ll have the opportunity to stock up on movie-inspired merchandise as well as Route 66 gear. Choose among Radiator Springs Curios, the Surplus Hut and Ramone’s House of Body Art.

Themed Restaurants

When it’s time to fuel up for some food, Flo’s V8 Cafe offers American comfort food, Fillmore's Taste-in has fresh fruit and veggie snacks, while the Cozy Cone Motel has snack stands that look like traffic cones and offer treats including churros, ice cream, soft pretzels and popcorn.

Rev up for fun!
