Microsoft and Volkswagen are to strike a deal that will connect every new vehicle together using Microsoft's Azure platform, putting the auto manufacturer into the forefront of digital and mobility services.
This will be represent the largest automotive cloud of its type in existence and will help VW streamline future developments and roll out new software almost instantly.
Microsoft Azure is a cloud computing service created by Microsoft for building, testing, deploying, and managing applications and services through a global network of Microsoft-managed data centers.
“The strategic partnership with Microsoft will turbocharge our digital transformation,” said VW Chief Executive Officer Herbert Diess.
“We will play a key role in shaping the future of auto-mobility.”
