Amazon Throws Their Hat In The Automotive Software Ring With Alexa

With the popularity of infotainment systems such as Apple's CarPlay and Android Auto, many have been left wondering why Amazon hasn't introduced their own software powered by Alexa. After all, they are one of the leading smart home device manufacturers. It would only follow that their technology would eventually migrate to the automotive environment.

The recent announcement that Amazon will soon be integrating their sophisticated software into infotainment systems excited manufacturers. Tests performed by Amazon have found that phone calls can be placed 5 seconds faster and directions can be input up to 15 seconds faster than on other OEM systems. 

The advanced voice control systems are also a huge step ahead of their competition's. The degree of integration possible through Amazon's software will keep the driver's eyes on the road more than any other software on the market.
