Top 5 Sports Cars of All-Time

It isn't easy to narrow down the top sports cars of all time to just five. With names like Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche, there are some smoking hot, exotic sports cars that turn heads wherever you go.

Here are 5 of them from us at Fix Auto Seattle Metro, so get ready to rev up those engines!

1.) Porsche 911

Think of a supercar you can drive everyday of the week. The Porsche 911, introduced in 1963, can be driven on the road as well as the track for some high-speed fun. The current seventh generation model is longer and has a wider front track than the previous one. The rear axle design is said to improve dynamic precision and stability. The fast and exotic sports car is the second oldest brand in continuous production after Corvette, according to reports.

2.) Chevy CorvetteAutoBody-Review.com top 5 sports cars of all-time

Speaking of Corvette, often referred to as “Vette,” the two-seater debuted in 1953 and has been in continuous production since. They are universally popular here in Seattle, WA and all over the world! The first model was a convertible and showcased as a concept car at the GM Motorama. It was named after a small warship called Corvette. All Vettes have had two seats, a front engine/rear-wheel-drive layout, a V-8 engine and fiberglass body. The Corvette, now in its seventh generation, is manufactured in Bowling Green, Kentucky and is the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s official sports car.

3.) Dodge Viper

In 1992, the two-seater Viper debuted without side windows or exterior door handles. Instead, the vehicle had clear vinyl flaps. A television series called Viper was launched in 1994 to help publicize the vehicle. The show ran until 1998. Fiat Chrysler announced in 2015 that the last year of production for the Viper would be in 2017. Some say the decision is based on poor sales, whereas others contend that the car won’t be able to comply with side curtain bags regulations. Chrysler announced five special edition Vipers for the final model year of production.

4.) Ferrari Testarossa

The showy, expensive Testarossa was a sports car for attention seekers in the 1980s. The mid-engine vehicle was manufactured from 1984 to 1991. Meaning “red head” in Italian, the Testarossa referenced the V-12 engine’s red-painted cam covers. The exterior was designed by Pininfarina, the famous Italian design house. The two-door coupé premiered at the Paris Auto Show in 1984. Sources say it was one of the most-produced Ferrari models, despite its high price.

5.) McClaren F1

During the 1988 Formula 1 season in 1988, the McClaren F1 was conceived and won 15 of 16 races. Four years later, it was designed to do the same on the road. There were only 106 of these exclusive cars manufactured. With a unique three-seat design, the driver’s seat is located in the middle. This reportedly optimizes the driving experience. The company says the F1 is still the fastest aspirated road car today.
