2017 Best Cars for the Money

AutoBody-Review 2017 best cars for the moneyAt Service King Spring Valley, we're trying to decide which car to purchase and want to ensure that we're getting good value for our money. We see quite a few 2017 cars in Las Vegas, NV and they're all very impressive with the new technology, bells and whistles. It’s worth checking out U.S. News Best Cars for the Money list, which was released earlier this year. It highlights the cars, trucks, SUVs and minivans that were determined to provide both great value and ownership experience.

Every year, U.S. News—the automotive channel of U.S. News and World Report—publishes several Best Cars awards. These include Best Cars for the Money, which were presented during the Chicago Auto Show in February.

There are 20 automotive categories and each named a Best Car for the Money. The cars are scored both on “Quality” and “Value.”

“Quality” is measured by the score received when the awards are calculated. Instead of using their own tests and opinions to rank cars, the team at U.S. News and World Report assembles and analyzes every published and reliable review of any given model and complements that analysis with hard safety and reliability data, according to the national publication.

“Value” is measured using a combination of two figures: the car’s five-year total cost of ownership (provided by Vincentric), and the average price consumer’s paid when the awards are tabulated (provided by TrueCar).

Toyota and its luxury brand Lexus received the most awards. Several of the winners received awards in the past, including the Chevrolet Colorado, Chevrolet Impala, Nissan Murano, and Acura MDX. The fact that these models have clung on to their awards despite newer models being introduced in their classes shows that they have the features and performance consumers desire, as well as prices and ownership costs that won’t crimp your budget, said U.S. News and World Report. There were also some newcomers that received the top prize. These include the Chrysler Pacifica and the FIAT 124 Spider.

Here are the 2017 winners.
