I brought my Mercedes sl 550 on Wednesday March 26, 2014 for what I was told was a 5 day repair. I told You that I would pay for it myself because the person's insurance would already issues me a check for about 1100. Chris called me that day and said if I ran it though the person that hit me's insurance they would be on the hook for any additional damage. He asked me for the claim number which I did not have because I was driving. I told him I would get it for him. I did not get it to him until Monday. I did not know that now work was started until then, but that is not my complaint, Chris said be later left that on my voicemail and I may not have listened to the complete message. I have not reason to doubt him. The bumper was the off and additional damage was found Chris on Monday March 31st contacted American Family with the new estimate. I contacted Chris on Friday to see of the car was ready and found out the work had not started because American Family had not approved the new estimate. I call Chris Monday April 7th and left a voicemail to see if American Family had approved the new estimate and found out they hadn't and asked Chris for the adjusters name and number because I would call him 5 times a day until he responded. On Tuesday April 8th Chris told me that the repair was approved by American Family. I hoped to pick my car up Friday April 11th. When I called on Friday I found the parts for my repair had never been ordered apparently waiting for the American Family Approval. The next week I called several times and finally talked to Chris on Thursday April 16th. He told me the parts order was messed up by Mercedes and they had to order new parts and they would be Overnighted and hopefully the car would be ready by Friday. Instead I got it today April 21st almost 4 weeks from when Ieft it. I was paying 150 a week for the rental and 2200 a month for my car which I lost the use of for an extra 3 weeks. Plaza did pick up a week if the rental car, but I can't believe the parts were not ordered until American Family approved it. It is not like I am driving a 110,000 car and would not pay 1300 for the extra work to fix the car. I am a very patient person but this experience pissed me off. I have purchased 4 80,000 plus cars from plaza, plus cars for my daughters and wife and felt like I was treated like someone who might not approve the payment of parts if American Family did not pay and was never asked if I would agree to do that to get the car back quicker.
